    • EASILY MY MOST FAVORITE PERI EPISODE

I NERALY PEED MY PANTS WHEN SHE BEGAN ACTING LIKE THE MONSTER.

    • Well we see Peridot does have the maturity of a little kid in this episode, at least in the beginning, being very insensitive to the corrupt gems, I did find her reaction to Jasper's corruption "ill that is disgusting" off putting, but it was set up for this episode. And Peridot you got one lucky hit and now all arrogant. Once again lack of maturity, act that arrogant to Jasper's face. I dare you.

Anyway first we had "Gem Hunt" with Scoody Doo references, and now we have a Looney Tunes reference more pacifically the Road Runner and Coyote shorts, and Peridot is perfect for this type of gag. Any other show that did this, I would love it, I am not too sure in this series, I think SU might be too good for this type of stuff.

I thought the corrupted gem of the episode was adorable, I know she was desperate, I can't believe Jasper would want this gem to be part of her army, she was collecting scary corrupted quartz soldiers, I don't think this gem should have made the cut.

I love how Steven made Peridot learn a lesson with marsh mellows, and the Crystal Gems they were there all along.

And Peridot bubbled a gem for the first time and it is a green bubble I love it, and of course the best part she sends it to the barn and Lapis reaction of just not being alarmed is awesome, and what is she reading, a fashion magazine, a manga?

Anyway we needed a breather episode and we get one to starts the season, and tomorrow might be a clip show, we will see.

      Say Uncle

The lesson of "Say Uncle" was to accept others differences. And that people who like different things can be friends.

It also hinted at an aspect of Steven's bubble power possibly being 'maternal instinct'.

The SU fandom just rejects anything that has got nothing to do with the Crystal Gems.

Still, new season right? We handled the Marty plot, got Greg and Pearl closer together, found out about the bubbled object, Malachite and the Cluster are no longer a problem, Jasper is...occupied, the Rubies are in space but might at some point crash into the Earth, now we just have to figure out what Lion is and well what else will we have for season four?

    • This episodes shows that bubbling is an inate gem ability, and most surprizingly that bubble teleporting is also inate and sends the bubble to where ever their home is.  That is really odd, because it means all gems posses some kind of teleporting ability.  I had always assumed that the temples gem technology was making the bubble teleporting possible, possibly some kind of extension of warp pad tech.

But this really creats some plot-holes, why are no gems able to explit this for useful travel, like when they couldnt get off wattermellon island, why didn't Jasper bubble and teleport all the crystal gems after capturing them, why did their ship even have all thouse jail cells when a few cubby holes would accomadate the same number of gems in bubbles.  If bubbling is this easy then it makes even less sense for the crystal gems to have not captured and bubbled their oponents in huge numbers durring the rebellion because it seems the reciving location could have been any location like a cave.

Peridot didnt know she could bubble so maybe most homeworld gems dont know about some abilities. Maybe they cant make big enough bubbles for all gems and it wouldnt be useful as it sends them to their home base so it wouldnt be good for gping other places

    • It seems like peridots characters is almost regressed just so she can learn a lesson of humility and sympathy here.  Also the animation style seemed a bit off, peridots head too large etc, that's likely due to the animators that actually did the work as it is hard to get consistency across multiple animators.

Besides the fact that meteorites are the celestial debris (they can be comets, astroids, and/or meteoroids) that came to Earth and survived atmospheric entry, we are talking about meteoroids as these are significantly smaller than astroids and the speed those things can travel is no joke as they can put in danger manned spacecrafts, however, the episode was a homage to Will E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons, so it sort of gets a pass because it was imitating many of the aspects of Looney Toons "physics".

    • In terms of Peridot not cracking (and I'm going to ignore for now the fact that this is a more comedic episode and thus cartoon physics apply): it's kind of a cop-out, but I'm going to say that 1) perhaps not all gems are so easy to crack as an Amethyst or a Ruby, and 2) that Peridot doesn't seem to have been hit directly in the gem the whole time.

Also, fun to learn another of Peridot's "powers", especially when it puts the events of Keeping It Together in perspective. I think we all thought having an Injector fall on her would've been enough to "poof" Peridot there, but it didn't. Now that makes sense.

I think im going to agree with you on the visor thing, although im still not sure if her gem is going through it or not. It could be (how do you say) molded with her gem that if it were above the visor would still be covering it.

My thoughts are that bubbling is sort of an innate ability brought on by compassion. Peridot says that the corrupted gem was a worthy adversary right before it bubbles. It's pretty much the first time Peridot acknowledges that the corruption is more than just a monster. Given that we're to believe the home world gems to be very incompassionate, it's entirely possible that they would have no idea about said ability if all gems even have it.

Also, the way Garnet describes the bubbling to Amethyst really makes it seem like bubbling is more about protection and safety than it is about keeping something captured or contained, which leads me to believe the ability is brought on by more emotions of sympathy or compassion than aggression.

      Just a thought though 😊

Unless I'm mistaken, anytime we've ever seen a Gen poofed, it was by a Gem weapon or another Gem's natural ability. A rock to Peridot's little space Dorito head might have caused her discomfort, but wasn't strong enough to vaporize her. Although, just an episode ago, that flying meteor to the face cracked Eyeball's gem easily. So maybe it's a hardness question... or just because the writers were playing this one for comedy rather than drama.

Note the marshmallows Steven throws at Peri are strewn all over the ground in one shot, but vanish a moment later. Also, that's a pretty deep bag of marshmallows.

    • This episode is amazing and also nice to see a bit of roadrunner in a modern cartoon.

I mainly liked this episode because Steven was helping Peridot in the first season we usally saw the oppisite with Steven being the one to need help/guidance so its nice to see the role reversal on Steven side he guides Peridot which is just in her first steps to being one of the Crystal Gems.

Although I do mention it alot Steven is growing so much even now and i hope they keep showing his growth its nice to see he is getting so much development.

I like the lightweight feel of the episode it doesnt take it self to seriously and i really apperacite that and its good to see that unlike the end of season 2 which ended in a less serious episode and season 3 began with a serious one, this season ended with a heavy plot driven very serious episode and season 4 made the lightweight episode i really prefer what happend in the end of season 3 and start of 4 alot more.

Peridot also got a little development in this episode as she made her own bubble and send it to her home a.k.a the barn.

This episode was an amazing way to start the 4th season i hope the season will become less serious in the start and develop and become more and more serious with alot of plot and character development.

      This episode gets a 10/10.

    • In real life Peridots have an Mohs of 7 which explains why she's tough, she has to be tough because if something fell on a tech and poofed them constantly then no work would get done, and Garnet used her gauntlets to squeez her hard enough to poof her
