  • So we are currently at Season 4 and we will get one more season after this season which will be Season 5

Now you guys says there should be more seasons after Season 5 but I will ask you this question

Do you want Cartoon Network to milk Steven Universe out of Life?! Did you not know how Nickelodeon did with Spongebob Squarepants and Fairy Oddparents?! It used to be good show but NOT ANYMORE! They kept those Show going to the point that you get very tired of those show! Do you want Steven Universe to suffer like what Nick did with Spongebob Squarepants or Fairy Oddparents?!

If Cartoon Network decides to milk Steven Universe, The Show would lost the magic that made Steven Universe!

Okay, Sorry for my angry behavior. I will be very calm about this

I think Season 5 will be the one that will concluded Steven Universe and it probably reveal everything!

I don't think Cartoon Network or even Crewniverse going to announce any more seasons in this year's San Diego Comic Con. They probably either going to reveal a new song or something!

And plus, How would you kept Steven Universe storyline going? It would be boring if they concluded the whole Homeworld Storyline! What is more to tell?!

I would be surprised if they announced more Season of Steven Universe.

Please don't kill me! The show is NOT canceling anytime soon! Alright! Put down your pitch-fork or any weapon! This is NOT flame thread!

    Sorry! I just got worry

I think it'll probably be the last since over last year, when the network renewed this show alongside with Uncle Grandpa for three additional seasons, the only thing that what kinda caught us off guard is that they decided to sever a number of episodes from either Season 2 or 3 that has 52 episodes into 26 in each season, although I can't assume that is ending, but I remember reading from Newsarama, where they were interviewed with Sugar about season 5, who she explained that she has big plans for season 5.

    • I don't want the serie to stretch further than it should. There is a story, there is a plot line, the creators already know where it will develop and end, and how.

But also I don't want the show to end with season five, because I really can't see how they will come to the conclusion of every open plot thread in just 36 episodes.

For example, I never fully enjoyed how Gravity Falls ended. It seemed to me it was a little rushed. I felt like season 2 could have been easily stretched into 2 separated seasons, thickening some plot holes and without adding many fillers. I kinda feel like that was the original intention of the creators, with a full season 2 ending with Stan's arrival and a full season 3 with more details revealed about Bill and the Weirdmageddon.

My hope is that this will not happen to Steven Universe. There are so many details we still don't know, characters that need to be introduced, places we need to see, that it can't be rushed to its end leaving some open questions. I guess it could easily reach season 7 without losing its sparks and best bits. But who knows, we'll see what it will be.

I wouldn't exactly see it continue for a seven season as it would be far impossible, I'm pretty sure that  we'll get some detail for some answers would be see soon. but for now, i wouldn't exacity be worrying about a show ending due to the fact that it'll might ruin the chances of ignoring about the series end.

    • The biggest problem with this logic is the creators aren't planning to end the story at season 5. Rebecca Sugar herself said they were "writing themselves into a serious corner" with that season, which means there would be more after it. If it ends at season five then it was cut short before the full story could be told, bottom line.

Well that's good! But it's Cartoon Network decides if they want to renew Steven Universe with more season. If not, Well Rebecca Sugar will have to change the storyline.

Anyway, If they does renew the show. I would like if they do on Snake People since it was Ronaldo theory and he always got right with his theory! So he could be right with Snake People theory!

    • They likely already produced through to season five so if cartoon network does what you're suggesting in this thread we'll be left with an incomplete story. Your assertion that the show "should" end at season five is therefore objectively false.

    • "Writing themselves into a corner". As in, at season 5, they literally can't take the story anywhere else, as that's where it concludes.

Season 5 is where it ends. Thank god.

On the contrary, that is exactly what that expresion means. A better known version of the expression is "Painting yourself into a corner". You have blocked all possible exits for yourself, the only thing you can do is wait for it to dry, i.e. end the show.

    • lol corners are meant to be written out of. Plus, they've said repeatedly that they aren't planning to end the show at season 5, providing the context for the corner comment that, as always, proves me right. Ending at season 5 = incomplete story.

Alright! I get it now! Rebecca Sugar have no plan of ending the show at Season 5!

We could get Season 6, 7, 8, 9 or even 10 of SU!

I hope she got more story that is GOOD ONE to tell or else the show will lose the magic!

Not exacity, this isn't just me, talking down on it, you can't listen from what Ed486 say, he just assuming, there's no way that it's going to pass after the fifth one, i can see if they would extend for a 6th one, but TBH, i don't think that's going to happen like that anytime soon, regardless if we never see anything addition about questions that trying to be solve about what gonna happen to on anything beyond something that we may not know yet, unless they could minus the Beach City themed episodes a bit.

AHHHHH!!! I really hope there's an announcement coming that this is the last season and not an incomplete story man because this is frustrating to me.

Oh my goodness! Like I say! It depend on Cartoon Network's decision if they want to renew the show for more season! Despite the comment from Rebecca Sugar and Crewniverse!

    • lol I'm not assuming, they've said they're not planning to complete the story by season 5. The only acceptable outcome here is that the show is allowed to continue for as many more seasons as it takes for the crew to tell their entire story, just like Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls. I doubt Cartoon Network is stupid enough to kill their best show before it's time, which is what a season 5 cancellation would be.

    • Well to his Credits, Some of Cartoon Network Last more season than Season 5

Adventure Time so have 8 Season and will get Ninth season! MY GOD! How this show managed to get a Ninth season is anyone guess!

Also Regular Show have 8 seasons!

So Steven Universe could get renew for more seasons considered of those show get more seasons after Fifth Season! Especially Adventure Time!

Regardless on what other show last long or not, doesn't reflect much as this situation of the show is dealing with, only if CN hadn't slashed out all of the 52 episodes, previously from Season 2 and 3, like they did to Uncle Grandpa, it would had expanded a bit on storyline to be fullfilled enough to fill in the gaps that they left out, but as for now, we not close to 5th season yet.

    • I think the network should allow them to finish the story the way they want to, it seems they've been fairly co-operative so far.

And anyone remember Kids Next Door? Man, that show had like 7 seasons or something and the plot and storylines just escalated so consistently with each season. It was fun to watch and seemed to have a good ending so um. "Let them finish" I say. ....Cartoon can follow some really weird business practices and has cancelled so many shows that I honestly wouldn't be surprised about anything they do anymore but at the same time, at least they have been consistently putting out cartoons by cartoonists for years. And I have some faith in that. They want to provide cartoon content for kids but also to keep some of their content appealing to demographics outside of kids' age-groups. So I dunno. I don't really wanna put anything definitive on post-s5 releases until there are official announcements.

Considering that each season or "series" as it's known in the UK CN has roughly 13-14 episodes by some standards, how many more seasons will depend on the number of eps and those I think will depend on how well the Crewniverse can tell their final story arcs over the same 11-minute format they have been using so far.

also re: Beach City episodes. I love the foreshadowing in them, the interactions Steven has and connections he makes..... I know people find seeing other people and seeing "dumb cartoon humans" on tv tedious but honestly if it weren't for the Beach city episodes I think half the world-building would just be dead and non-existent. I mean... Steven is not just half-gem. He's half-human too. I think this is something that shows like Legend of Korra really missed out on because there's a lack of showing the saviour of a universe is still human despite. And I think Steven's best flaws and features a lot of times come out with hanging around and with humans so there. Character DevelopmentTM too.
