—Steven, "Tiger Millionaire" |
Tiger Millionaire, also known as Tiger Philanthropist, is Steven's pro-wrestler persona, introduced in the eponymous episode "Tiger Millionaire". He fought as the tag team partner for Purple Puma, the pro-wrestler persona of Amethyst. The two were the Tag Team Champions before surrendering their title and retiring from wrestling in "Tiger Philanthropist".
Appearance[]
To become Tiger Millionaire, Steven wears a little mask of a tiger-nose with teeth, a salmon collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves, Valhalla-purple suspenders, and a hot-purple tie emblazoned with a gold dollar sign, all in addition to his usual jeans and sandals. He also slicks back his hair with Margarine. In the ring, he carries a variety of thematically appropriate props, such as a pink suitcase embossed with a gold dollar sign and a gigantic cell phone roughly his size.
Abilities[]
Unlike Amethyst, Steven never uses his Gem powers in the ring. Instead, since "anything goes" in the ring, Tiger Millionaire helps the Purple Puma by using various props. For instance, he bribes one opponent with a suitcase filled with "a million jungle bucks", and then opens the suitcase in his face, knocking him over. When another opponent runs away from the Purple Puma, Steven "accidentally" hits the opponent with an enormous cardboard cell phone. In another match, he hits his opponents' heads with coconuts using a badminton racket. Later, he throws the business section of a newspaper into the ring, causing his adversary to slip.
By the time of "Tiger Philanthropist", Steven appears to utilize his physical prowess to wrestle more so than his props. With his superhuman abilities, Steven is able to defeat tag teams single-handedly.
Trivia[]
- A poster of Tiger Millionaire and Purple Puma can be seen in the employee room at the Big Donut in "Joking Victim".
- He and Purple Puma are referred to as the "Jungle Duo" by Mr. Smiley.
- Unlike Steven's normal persona, Tiger Millionaire is petty and cruel, as a way to express himself.
- Despite his personality being described as "cruel", he is often in a good mood and is smiling most of the time, implying Tiger is sadistic.
- According to Steven's backstory, Tiger Millionaire is described as a spoiled rich kid from a wealthy family, who "carved out his own destiny by making money in the coconut mines.". He also mentions that his home is a place called Jungle Island.
- Steven changes his wrestling persona to Tiger Philanthropist in the episode of the same name, stating that Tiger Millionaire was not happy with his wealth, and so had decided to "give back to the fans.".
