Amethyst and Steven are having fun in the water while Lapis watches. Amethyst notices Lapis alone, looking lonely and sad so she walks over to her. “Hey,” Amethyst says.

Lapis looks up at her and half-smiles, “Hi.”

“Are you okay?” Amethyst asks.

“I’m fine. with Steven,” Lapis lies running her fingers through the sand.

“You're not fine,” Amethyst says, sitting down next to her.

“Listen. Just because I was in a deadly fusion for a year doesn’t mean you have to be nice to me,” Lapis says trying to excuse Amethyst.

“You’re right, it doesn’t,” Amethyst says. Amethyst sighs, “Lapis, I know you hate us especially me and Garnet because we knew about you being in the mirror but the past is in the past. Just let it slide off your back.”

“I dunno. Maybe because holding grudges is bad,” Amethyst responds

“Whatever,” Lapis says turning away.

Amethyst puts her hand on Lapis’ shoulder, “Do you really find it fun to be a loner?”

“No,” Lapis says. She turns around, “But I don’t like being here either. The only reason I’m still here is because of Steven and I have nowhere to go. Homeworld probably hates me.”

“Isn’t that a good thing? Homeworld is so uptight and stuff. Here, on Earth, you can do and be whatever you want without Homeworld abusing you,” Amethyst explains.

“I guess you’re right. I didn’t like the rules either. So many innocent gems were yelled at and punished, I couldn’t handle it. I guess I was afraid of the diamonds. Compared to them, I am a pebble,” Lapis admits.

“See! Who cares what they think of your rank? Your higher then I am but I don’t care!” Amethyst jokingly says.

The two begin to laugh for a minute, “Thank you, Amethyst. You really made me see something.”

“No problem! Now get up and play with us!” Amethyst says. Lapis and Amethyst get up to go play in the water.
