When I found out Connie was getting training instead of Steven . . . .I almost punched my Laptop. Yes, I was that ticked. I got nothing against female characters getting to fight, I read Fairytale for goodness sakes. I just don't get it, he has been thrown into danger sooooo many times yet he only "defends" himself at near random times. When Steven says his a Crystal Gem . . .I can't even take him seriously anymore because of the fact he dosen't really show it often enough. Don't get me wrong, the series as a whole has already caught up to Adventure Time (IMO), it's just that i'm starting to see a pattern here. Steven and Gems do some character development episodes, they fight he sits and watchs. Then during season finally he goes into sidekick mode and helps out more effectivly.
Steven should be getting the training because first off,(this is the big one) his not trying to develop his powers anymore. T_T Even after the Invasion, the Gems don't find it necessary to help him master his sheild before the next wave comes knocking at their door.
Second, training Connie would be pointless because shes an 12year old child she's not gonna become some Gem breaking boss within a few weeks!! Let's just establish that right now!
Third, the Gems babying him is gonna get old. Birds gotta leave the nest sometime :-\
Finally, it's the only way he can truly protect everyone he cares about, because Jasper made it pretty clear that Home World ain't messing around >:-\
This isn't hate, just how I feel about all this.
