Steven: I can feel it now, the feeling is coming back to my legs and arms.
Steven: ARRRRG. It's really bad.
Connie (sobbing): Steven, hold on. My mom's going to take good care of you. I promise.
Priyanka: Connie, you better come out into the hall with me. The other doctors can take good care of him.
Connie and her mom leave the emergency room. The emergency staff crowds around Steven. They apply bandages to his wounds, but they are unsure what to do about the forked metal rod protruding from his chest.
Doctor: How is he even still alive?
Nurse: Doctor, please, he's concious.
Steven's Gem begins to glow, as brightly as it ever has. The medical staff stops what they are doing for a moment and back away. Then quickly they return to trying to help Steven, and ignore the pink glow that floods the room.
A pink glow is all that can be seen.
Steven: What's happening? Where am I?
Rose: It's alright my darling Steven. I'm here. We are here together.
Steven: Mom? Is that you? I feel very strange. I don't feel right at all.
Rose: I know. It's because we're separated now. We have been one person all your life, but now we are separated, and it feels very strange to you. Oh, and you're dying.
Steven: I ... I know. I can feel it. ... Mom, what am I, what was I?
Rose (crying): You're my son. I love you. That is all you need to know.
A large metal clank can be heard, as the metal rod falls to the floor.
Then a sound of breaking glass, falling on the floor.
The medical staff backs away from the bed. The pink glow is gone.
Steven sits up on the bed. He is fully healed, though his clothes are a dirty mess.
There is not a scratch on him anywhere. He breaths heavily and looks around.
Steven: What happened?
The medical staff stare at him with shocked expressions. Some look at each other.
One nurse backs out of the room.
In a moment Priyanka and Connie come into the room.
Connie, with tears streaming down her face, runs over to Steven and hugs him.
Connie: Oh Steven!! You're alright! How? What happened?
Priyanka looks at the lead doctor, puts her hand on his shoulder.
Priyanka (to doctor): It's alright. With Steven there is always going to be something strange. You would not believe some of the things I've seen.
Priyanka: Tell me what happened.
Doctor: There was this bright pink glow, then this giant pink woman appeared out of nowhere. She was crying. She was crying so much. She cried all over him. The pink glow got brighter and brighter. Then it all burst. She was gone, the glow was gone. The metal rod fell on the floor. And that stone fell on the floor and shattered. He was completely healed. How is this possible?
Priyanka and Connie both turn pale, especially noticable due to their dark complexions.
Steven slowly reaches down to his stomach.
Steven: No, no, no, please no!
For the first and last time, Steven touches his belly button.
