So most SU fans know what Gemsonas (Gem Personas to be specific) are, and of course all fans seem to have their own gemsonas. And so do I!
But the wierd part is when your Gemsona becomes a canon gem! T_T
1.My first Gemsona--
AQUAMARINE!
Technically when Canon Aquamarine was shown, my gemsona wasn't Aquamarine anymore. Why? Well we have Lapis Lazuli, She's Blue and all but doesn't have the most watery-name- But she has water powers. And I was thinking "Aquamarine sounds watery enough!And I don't want an OP gemsona! But if he doesn't have water powers then why should I choose the name Aquamarine?!" And I was pretty convinced that in the show it was a fusion, because COME ON! AQUA & MARINE That's just so watery! And I thought that since Blue gems are diplomats they wouldn't need water to fight, THEY DON'T NEED TO FIGHT. But I didn't know much gems at the time so I kept the name and just kept thinking what his abilities and purpose was. And all I could think was lighting control or cracked-gem healing! And I agree it's SUPER RANDOM. And TBH the reason why I didn't have my "Aquamarine" to have powers was that I was part of the Crystal Gems! LOL! And Lapis was just at the barn, so I imagined that the fusion of my "AQMRN" and Alexandrite would be TOTALLY OP if they fought Malachite.
2.I.... also have this OC with Aquamarine and the Crystal Gems...

TOPAZ! But fortunately she became Citrine!
And My Topaz was soooo different! She was a Fluttershy/Pinkie Pie sorta gem! She was kinda like Padparadscha but not wierd. Like literally Pinkie Pie but more shy and loves animals. Her deal was that she could make light projections. Light projections that are all yellow, and everytime she doesn't make her light into any form, it's just light, shaped into a butterfly (Like the ones in Mindful Education). So everytime she made light it literally is a butterfly-looking light. She can't make beams of light but instead her light is somewhat "solid" and can only take form of animals, because she was so attached to them. Her weapon looked like a gem destablizer with a really, REALLY long handle. But it wasn't a gem destablizer! I barely noticed her weapon looked like one! LOL! Thing is her weapon was like for shoving it into a corrupted gem's neck so that they can't move.. Kinda like a Zoo Tool.. LMAO It's so wierd but it fitted her animal-loving motif. And she was slim and had transparent thingies like Yellow and Blue Pearl's outfitss mashed up but more complex and "unique" I guess? And she also wasn't Citrine BEFORE!! She was Topaz! I changed her from Topaz to Citrine even before canon Topaz was shown just because I uad a fusion "Ametrine" and realized it should be Citrine not Topaz.
3. After seeing Aquamarine being so different from my Aquamarine here comes even more different twists!
ZIRCON
This is the worst part for me because I only started researching for my OCs around the time of the Wanted Trailer's release and when we all thought Canon Zircon was Moonstone. I had Zircon with me as my Gemsona the longest among all my OCs. He had a Jamie/Connie nose but less curved in a sense that is kinda like Pearl's. And his weapon was similar to Citrine's but with a Diamond top that is open at the tip that makes it looks like a 2 headed trident- Again, like Citrine. He can conduct lightning and when I researched, I learned that Zircons can help reveal virtual aspects in oneself so I decided he would be for gem rehabilitation for defects. Although my Zircon's purpose was quite close it just couldn't be! LMAOOOO!!
And I went for Sodalite for my Gemsona because I had an OC named Sodalite but I scraped her because I think I had too much OCs... Then when I opened my account in this wiki....
THEN
I REMEMBERED MY NAME WAS SHATTUCKITE AND SO WAS MY EMAIL ON ALMOST EVERYTHING I USE EVERYDAY. T_T I'm more ignorant than Homeworld Gems LOOOOOOOOOL!! Hahahahaha XD
Tips finding the right Gemsona:
1. Find a gem you are seemingly interested in, attracted to, ar even attached to! Like me and my Shattux! 2. Do some research and map out your Gemsona's characteristics to be more YOU btu at the same time the gemsona is it's own character. 3. Once you find the gem, you can start drawing! This is the mistake I ALWAYS MAKE. I draw first! I am telling you now but even I don't do it (Soorrryyy XD) We all know Blue Gems are Diplomats, Yellow Gems are Military-Based, And Pink Gems are indirectly loving gems, And we don't really know White yet.. But you can come up with it! So should faction your gems according to colour so that you can decide clearly what you want then to have in the future, like thier power or ability. 4. Make your own rules! This are just how I make my Gemsonas (but less on the 3 (LOL)) You have the freedom to do whatever you want with your Gemsona so goodluck on doing that!
