The "Warp Pad" is a device used by the Crystal Gems to teleport to places outside Beach City. It was introduced in the Pilot, when the Gems returned from fighting the Electric Skulls. Steven is shown using the warp pad for the first time in "Cheeseburger Backpack" to teleport to the Lunar Sea Spire, although, because Pearl asked if he remembered how to do it, it wasn't his first time using it. There seems to be anti-gravity while warping, but only for Steven.

About

The warp pad as far as we know keeps you in the same world since Steven and the Crystal Gems had to swim back from the Lunar Sea Spire. Sugilite also had to swim/walk back from the Communications Hub. In the episode "Space Race", the Galaxy Warp is shown, a location that is filled with broken warp pads that had once lead to different places off planet, suggesting that no known warp pads on Earth go anywhere else besides a location on Earth itself.

Warp pads can become destroyed by heavy enough objects as seen in "Coach Steven" when a boulder was smashed into a warp pad, and as a result, Pearl could not warp back to the Communications Hub, the place where the destroyed warp pad was. Warp pads can also become damaged to a point where they don't work, as all the warp pads at the Galaxy Warp were damaged by unknown and all of them are shown as inactive.
